CANDY GRAM SALE !!
The month of
February is synonymous with that famous holiday VALENTINES
DAY!This
Valentines Day was a very special day for Golden Rescue
In Naples. Ms. Christie Sieger, teacher at the Colonial
Elementary School in Ft. Myers, had a unique idea that
would allow the students to learn about love and care
for animals and at the same time raise donations for our
rescue. The idea was submitted to the Principal, Ms
Sandra Strausser, and was gladly accepted. The event
was called the CANDY GRAM SALE. Candy grams, made by
Christy, would be sold for $1.00 a piece. The money
collected would be donated to GRINinc and at the same
time the students would learn what an animal needs:
water, food, exercise, medical care, shelter and lots
and lots of love. This fundraiser was a success. These
students donated $600.00 to our rescue....which in
turn was deposited in our FOREVER GOLDEN FUND!
This truly was an act of
love and dedication.... we thank you, Christy, and of
course the wonderful students of Colonial Elementary
School.
Oh yes...almost forgot...for
all their efforts the students had a visit from two very
special dogs D.J. and Riley who belong to Christy Sieger
and Matt Weider.
